In 2002, I took a chance, went signed up for Massage School, didn't even know there was a special school for massage but once I found it, I had to go. Working full-time, coaching school sports and raising my child, I attended the Academy of Massage in Englewood, NJ! I signed up for the 541hours of night classes. By 2003, I was a graduate and life made changes for me that I needed to put my new found passion aside.
Being in New York since 1995, life's challenges and needs brought us back to Washington in 2007. Layoffs were taking place everywhere in 2010, everywhere meant me too. Being unemployed for the first time in... wow... what seems forever ago, I got the chance to attend school once more... still wanting to help, wanting to massage, knowing I can do it. I went for it... Night classes for Cortiva of Seattle's 1000 hour program, I got to refresh what I had learned before and then got to learn so much MORE! Thank Goodness for my amazing family support!
My career, my interest, my passion for the last 10years is massage and what my education provides me with abilities to perform Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Techniques, Trigger and Tender Points, Sports Massage, Chair Massage, Prenatal Massage, Special Population Massage, Structural Techniques, with introductions to: Lomi-Lomi, Thai Massage, Spa Treatments, Manual Lymphatic Massage and Craniosacral Therapy... but techniques isn't everything. I put my best effort in making sure the treatment provided is made for you, that it is what you need and want. We will work together to make a plan and make changes if needed when needed for you.
For medical insurance practices, I do know how to complete SOAP charts, with subjective information, ADLs, objective information, session goals, massage plans, chart results from the session, set LTG and STG goals and future massage ideas. I do NOT accept insurance plans at this time... Soon, but not yet. Please don't think that we can't still do these things though i am not be accepting the medical insurance right now... we can do these things for you regardless.
